Sound healing Adventure didn’t start out as it is today, a change of name from “Ascension Therapies” seemed to be the most logical thing to do. Now the name reflects the true nature of what I do.
My journey into spiritualism and healing has been relatively straight forward. The path I have chosen not so, there is too much conflicting information out there at times it’s been difficult to figure which way to turn. In 2017 after a few years of trying to find myself, I had the call to Reiki. The calling isn’t for everyone, but having that gut instinct, I knew it was the right time to explore those feelings. I’ve always known from a younger age (mid 30’s) that there was something special about my hands. I could feel a burning sensation, call it energy transfer, call it something else that I would experience when holding someone’s hand. Before that time whilst in the Navy, I was Jack the lad. full of myself importance without a care in the world, then something changed.
2012 seemed to be a pivotal year, personal circumstances seem to change, spirituality was opening up, different paths were emerging.
2017, I decide to act on what I was feeling. I contacted a local Reiki teacher in Sheffield, Rachel Crawford, an absolutely wonderful person, who gave me the time to explore. Level 1 & 2 came easily and with a thirst for knowledge, I completed level 3/Master teacher in a short space of time. I have several reiki student scattered throughout the globe now. After completing my Usui Reiki level 1, 2 and 3/Master teacher within a very short period of time, I found myself wondering what was next. A couple of years passed then Reiki Drumming seemed to be the next logical step. This is where I found Sarah Gregg, Reiki Drum Healing and Journeying. This was the start of my journey into sound .
A couple of years after qualifying as a Reiki Drum Master, but not doing all that much in the way of practice, as Sherlock Holmes would say “The game is afoot”
2022, This is when I met Dave Mitchell from (Avaja) whilst at the Christmas market in Sheffield. His guidance put me in touch with Craig Eddington of (The Sound Therapy Company). This is where I completed my Foundation Certificate in Sound Healing

The future isn’t written in stone, we all have free will. In September 2025 I’ve now completed my Level 1 & 2 Angelic-Reiki-Certificate with a wonderful lady called Pamela Charlesworth near Holmfirth. (Pam Charlesworth – Holistic Therapist and Reiki Master.) Hopefully shortly after I will be doing my level 3 / Master level in October or November.
I’m also looking at healing through the use of tuning forks. I have used these in the past, when with a good friend call Jayne McDonald a qualified QHHT practitioner “Showed me the ropes” . Jayne has also trained in the use of Turning Forks at Suara Sound Academy | Sound Healing with Tuning Forks.
It’s not about qualification chasing, I understand for insurance purposes and for peace of mind that the establishment need to see bits of paper that say that the practitioner has the training and experience to confidently and professionally execute whatever he is doing in the pursuit of that healing modality. For me, It’s all about the healing experience, opening up to help people. The more “Tools of the trade” I have the better I can become as a healer.
My journey has taken a turn from all about healing through healing modalities to healing through sound. From putting on “Sound Baths” to Reiki drumming, to drumming circles, the concept of healing through vibration and sound is a fundamental principle of how I work.
